Arrgh!

I had a rough day piecing a quilt.  Cut the wrong fabric and sewed it together making half square triangles.  Then had to rip it out.
I swear I sewed 2 seams and ripped out 1( or 2).  I sewed things wrong all day.  I ripped out off and on all day.  I guess I should have just stopped, but too stubborn.
Part of the problem is that the pattern is on my Kindle, and I don't have a design wall, so I didn't have the pattern in front of me. I just kept on making mistakes.
I finally got a couple of blocks done, but not near what I should have for 6 hours of work!

Quitting for the rest of today.

Twirling Stars quilt

Twirling Stars quilt

I started this quilt sometime around September for George and Marilyn Wightman's wedding. I finished it the morning of the wedding on February 25, 2017.

I  worked on this quilt top off and on.  I took it to California in January, and worked on it after Rachel's quilt was finished. I finished it at home. My hand was cramping after using clips on the binding, so I was not able to sew it down on Thursday.  Friday I hand sewed the binding.  I finished it about 3 am.  I sewed on the label, boxed and  wrapped it, slept a little, then drove David to Seattle to his son's wedding.

Amish with a twist 2 quilt

"Amish with a twist 2" quilt

I started this quilt for my daughter Rachel Gray Sturm in May 2016 and finished in January 2017 after driving to California to give it to her.

The reason it took so long was that I started several other projects in between. I finished a few of them.

This is a King sized quilt, and I quilted the "quilt sandwich" ( the 3 layers of the quilt- top, batting and backing) in sections. I quilted the center section of the quilt, then sewed the left side  of the quilt top and the batting to each respective layer and quilted it, and then did the same too the right side.  I  then added the outer border, quilted it and added the binding.

Under and Over quilt

Under and Over quilt

I made this quilt for Tyler Hoose, my grandson.  It is called  Under and Over. It was planned for his graduation from high school, but ended up being given to him for Christmas 2016. Part of the delay was my making a label for the quilt, and part was my procrastination getting it mailed.

This was the second quilt I pieced,  but actually finished machine quilting it first.  It was my first practice quilt. (Piecing means to cut out shapes or pieces of fabric and sew them together in a pattern.)
