My husband had a stroke this week. Several small areas in the cerebellum, and 2 small areas in the occipital lobe of the brain are affected. It started with severe vertigo and nausea and an inability to balance. He is at the hospital in Cardiac Care Unit for the extremely high blood pressure and chronic atrial fibrillation that led to his stroke.
Today the Physical Therapist helped him out of bed, and he walked about 40 feet with her and using a walker. He is still very unsteady on his feet. He will be going to Rehab in a day or so for two to four weeks.
I am cleaning out the bedroom and planning how to rearrange things so that he can get in and out of the bed when he gets home. (Right now it is very cluttered.)
For me...........well I'm a little more stressed than usual. I'm trying to be positive, but I feel like it's just more emotional and financial stress on me.
Well, We'll see how it goes.
